This project will always be a favorite of mine! Two Christmases ago, my whole family came together to give my Mom and Dad’s kitchen a makeover as their Christmas gift. We decided to try to make it a surprise, so we planned it for weekend when they were away on a trip. While they we’re gone, we poured blood sweat and tears into sanding (and sanding and more sanding…), painting, stenciling, and adding new hardware, lighting and decor. It didn’t cost us a fortune and I’m always floored by the difference a simple coat or two of paint and some finishing touches can make! Needless to say – My mom was totally shocked (Dad had to be in on the secret eventually to pull off the surprise 😉 ) Take a look at the before and afters below!

Also, the reveal was late at night, so sorry not sorry for the cruddy night time photos. Hah! Sometimes you just have to work with what you’ve got, right?
