Dear Friends,

I have an extremely bittersweet announcement to make (deeeep breath), so I’ll cut right to the chase.

I’ve decided that the time has come for me to close the Hill Interiors chapter of my design career. For the last seven years (my business-iversary was actually this week!), I have had the absolute honor of serving Colorado residents to create spaces where they make some of their most cherished memories. Homes are truly sacred. I believe that with all of my heart. I don’t take it lightly that so many of you have asked me to play a part in those sacred spaces. I want to convey a huge “Thank You!!” and send you the biggest internet hugs. This business has been my baby and these years have been some of the most fun, beautiful, challenging and growth-inducing of my life and I have nothing but gratitude for all of it, and especially all of you. This business quite literally could not have existed or flourished the way it did without you!

So, What’s Next?!

Now, PLEASE don’t take this to mean that my design days are behind me!! Oh, no. Interior Design (and great design in general) is still a massive passion of mine. By closing this chapter, I am trying to give myself the freedom to grow into other avenues of design other than residential services. I have tons of new ideas and dreams that are both insanely exciting and terrifying at the same (if you could only see the idea-chaos in my brain right now). I’ve come to fully believe that those are the dreams I should curiously follow. So far, it hasn’t led me astray. 🙂

Moving forward, I really hope you stick around! I’ll still share and blog about all things design, and I’ll be turning my attention to my own home, which I am SO excited for. Whenever my clients asked to see inspiration from my own home I hesitated because, while we’ve put a lot of work into it, it isn’t quite where I want it to be just yet. I would always reply, “I feel a little like the shoemaker whose children have no shoes”. Hah! I often have this conversation with other designers who feel the same way; we become so focused on creating beautiful spaces for others that our own spaces take a back burner. I can’t wait to practice what I preach and pour some creative energy into our own place.

That said, I am aiming to finalize all of my current client projects and tie everything up to close by mid-September. After that, you can expect to see a re-brand for my social channels and blog (and maybe my online shop too. Please let me know if that’s something you’d like to see continue)!

The Adventure Continues…

Part of my mission statement for this business reads:

“My ultimate goal is to make a positive impact in the lives of my clients, and in turn our community, by creating spaces where people can thrive together; families and friends can gather together, be nurtured, find rest, find a haven. Imagine a community where everyone has a space to care for themselves and their families well and where community support is found! Life, health and joy would abound. What more could we ask for?”

This still remains my “why” even though this chapter is ending. I am so excited to recharge and then leap into the next adventure to approach this “mission” from a different direction. Stay tuned.

This Hill Interiors season has been so much more than I ever could have dreamed or imagined. Thank you. I love you. Goodbye, for now!

Xoxo,

Alyssa
